Who I Am
A Writer
The thing I love doing most is writing, in any way, shape, or form. Ever since I was very young, I have had the passion and drive for storytelling, which continues today. I still have the eight or nine composition books I filled up with my stories starting at nine years old; while they're falling apart or covered in plenty of stickers, they still represent the strong love and dedication I had to build little worlds of my own.
This love divulged into different paths following my time at MSU; I graduated with a specialization in Film and Professional writing classes, as these were other avenues for me to realize my passion and talents. Film and screen writing classes allowed me to excel further in creativity while pairing two hobbies: writing and movies, while my professional writing courses introduced what writing in the real world would look like. I was able to branch out into the publishing professional world in the seminar I took in my final semester working on the Red Cedar Review. There I explored the downfalls and pitfalls of the current industry, as well as how to make it there myself. While I currently work as a freelancer, which you'll see, I also have many creative works shared on that page :) |
What I Do Now
Freelancer Since May 2022, I've been working as a freelance/ghostwriter at Word agents. Through this company, I pick articles and write them for clients who then use them on their websites, blogs, and other social media platforms! I’ve worked with over 50 clients since starting, and the number continues to grow weekly. When I started out, I was assigned articles, so the topics varied for every assignment. I've written about dog breeding, home improvement, vacations in Iceland and Hawaii, dying hair, best insurance, best products, etc. I was recently promoted to choosing my own, so I've had fun learning more about hair, makeup, traveling around Disney World, fashion, and more. I've been able to manage my time and have been finishing articles before their deadlines; I just love learning, so I really appreciate that aspect of this job! |
Consulting/CoteachingWorking at Michigan State’s Writing Center is one of my proudest achievements of my time at MSU. From January 2020 until May 2022, Bessey Hall was my home where I helped advise clients on all projects at all stages of the writing process.
This experience was meaningful in many ways; the community in which I worked and who I worked with was very rewarding- we all just wanted to see each other succeed. I developed strong relationships while also developing stronger writing practices within myself. Beyond my tutoring experience, I was honored to serve alongside Nick Sanders and Colton Wansitler as a co-teacher for the fall 2020 semester. My work with them bypassed the end of that semester when we reunited to present at the East Central Writing Association Conference in April 2022, where we contemplated scenarios and applied the practices we taught in our class. Down in center is Nick, Colton, and I following our presentation.

Other things I do
Magazine Writer
From January 2022 to May 2022, I was a staff writer at Study Breaks Magazine. Study Breaks Magazine is an online publication with articles, artwork, and more created by undergraduates around the world.
This opportunity was especially meaningful for me because it was the first time, I saw my name in print outside of my high school’s newspaper. I was able to exercise my creativity by pitching stories about things that interested me, which
led me to write about many pop-culture happenings, such as the latest movies, TV shows, music albums, and more. I enjoyed working with my fellow interns, reading their different perspectives, and overall discovering Study Breaks- it is a wonderful
publication that more need to know about!
It was also a wonderful time for growth because, with my amazing supervisor Kris Lentz, personal editor, and fellow interns, I had an environment where I felt supported through constructive criticism and grew as a writer.
